Colonists from the USS Burlingame landed on "New Eden", and all contact is lost. 94 years later, an expedition, under the command of Survey Service Captain Michael Tiberius Taylor arrives. They find the colonists have been genetically transformed into a race of beings who only live for seven years. And when a race only has a lifespan of seven years, the competition to reproduce is especially fierce.

Women have three reproductive chambers, and men have fifteen inch organs of reproduction with expressive faces on them. Two men and two women are required to make a baby, and women have holes in the backs of their heads for receiving another kind of love.

This story shows how the competition to reproduce shapes an alien culture. At 253,000 words, it will provide hours of entertainment.
